Montreal Steak Seasoning


  • 2 Tablespoons whole peppercorns

  • 1 Tablespoon whole coriander seeds

  • 1 Tablespoon dehydrated onion

  • 2 Tablespoon dehydrated garlic

  • 1 Tablespoon dill seed

  • 1 Tablespoon red chili flakes

  • 1 Tablespoon paprika

  • 2 Tablespoon kosher salt


  1. Place the garlic, paprika, onion and kosher salt into a small bowl.

  2. Lightly toast the coriander and dill seeds, pepper flakes and peppercorns in a small pan over medium heat until fragrant.

  3. Place the toasted ingredients into the bowl with the rest of the seasonings and mix well.

  4. Place the mixture into a food mill, food processor or coffee grinder, or use a mortar and pestle to grind down the seeds.

Place the mixture in a sealed container and keep out of the sun. Makes ¾ cup.
