General Tso Chicken
Ingredients
2 cups raw chicken, large dice
¼ cup soy sauce divided
¼ cup cornstarch divided
1-large egg
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
2 Tablespoon minced ginger
2 Tablespoon minced garlic
1-cup chicken broth
3-Tablespoon Hoisin sauce
3 Tablespoons water
1-Tablespoon sesame oil
Method
Cut the chicken into large dice and place in a large bowl.
Add half the cornstarch, half of the soy sauce, and the egg, and mix well with a spoon or a gloved hand and then set aside
Heat up the vegetable oil in a large skillet or a wok, add the aromatics, and sauté until fragrant.
Add the chicken to the pan, and keep it separated so that the chicken doesn’t stick together, and cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165
Add the chicken stock and the hoisin sauce. Heat and stir until bubbling, then turn the heat to simmer
Add the remaining cornstarch with the 3 Tablespoons of water and make a slurry
Add the slurry into the middle of the pan and stir in until the sauce thickens
Simmer for 10 minutes
Serve with rice or noodles
