Homemade Mustard

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup yellow mustard powder

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon paprika


Method

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the mustard powder and the water until smooth, then add the vinegar and seasonings.

  2. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan or pot and bring it to a quick boil. Reduce the heat and simmer on medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow to thicken.

  3. Remove from heat and cool.

  4. Store it in a sealable container in the refrigerator. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
