Wendy's Sweet and Sour Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

  • 2 tablespoons water


Method

  1. Combine apricot preserves, ketchup, white vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a small saucepan.

  2. Stir water and cornstarch together and add to the pan if you’d like a thicker sauce.

  3. Place over medium heat, stirring often, until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 2–3 minutes.

  4. Take off the heat and let it cool slightly before serving.


Yield: About 1 cup (serves 4–6).


Enjoy with chicken nuggets, fries, or as a dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
