Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes
Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes

Air fryer sweet potatoes are a healthy, flavorful side or snack, cooked with circulating hot air to make them crisp outside and tender inside, using minimal oil. Simply cut sweet potatoes into cubes, fries, or rounds, toss with a little oil and your favorite seasonings, and air fry at 375°F to 400°F for 15–20 minutes. They’re quick, convenient, and deliver a perfect golden crunch without deep frying.

Air Fried Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sweet potato

  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Method

  1. Wash and peel the sweet potato.

  2. Cut into 1/2-inch cubes or wedges for even cooking.

  3. Place the sweet potato pieces in a large bowl.

  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Toss again until evenly coated.

  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.

  6. Arrange the sweet potato pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.

  7. Air fry for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until sweet potatoes are crispy on the outside and tender inside.

  8. Transfer to a serving dish.

  9. Enjoy hot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs or a drizzle of honey.

Tips

  • For extra crispiness, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.

  • Try other seasonings like cinnamon, chili powder, or Italian herbs for different flavor profiles.

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve as a side dish with grilled chicken, steak, or fish.

  • Enjoy as a snack with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, ketchup, or garlic aioli.
