Bacon sour cream dip is a rich, flavorful appetizer that combines the creamy tang of sour cream with the smoky, savory crunch of bacon. This dip is a popular choice for parties, game days, or family gatherings because it's easy to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser.
Bacon Sour Cream Dip
Ingredients
1 cup sour cream
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives (optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for added flavor)
Method
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cooled.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and mayonnaise (if using). Stir until smooth.
Add the crumbled bacon, chives, and cheddar cheese (if using) to the bowl. Mix until evenly distributed.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust seasonings if necessary.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Serve chilled with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
Tips
For a lighter version, use reduced-fat sour cream.
Try adding a dash of smoked paprika for extra flavor.
Make ahead: Prepare up to a day in advance and keep refrigerated until serving.
