Creamed Tuna


  • 4 puff pastry shells

  • ¼ pound of butter

  • 3 peppers, small dice

  • 1 onion, small dice

  • ½ cup mushrooms, sliced

  • ¾ cup flour

  • 1-5 ounce can of tuna

  • juice of half a lemon

  • 1 cup peas

  • 2 cups of milk

  • ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper as needed


  1. Pre-heat oven to 425℉

  2. Bake the puff pastry according to package directions

  3. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, sauté the onions, mushrooms, and peppers in the butter until the ingredients begin to soften. Season with salt and pepper

  4. Add the flour and stir well to make a roux. Cook and stir the roux for about 5 minutes until it stops sticking to the edges of the pan

  5. Add the milk and stir with a whisk until the sauce begins to thicken

  6. Add the tuna, Worcestershire, and lemon juice

  7. Add more milk if the sauce is still thick.

  8. Add the peas and season with more salt and pepper

  9. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes

  10. Remove puff pastry from oven and cover with the creamed tuna
