Runza eggrolls bring together the hearty flavors of the Midwestern classic runza — known for its savory blend of beef, onion, and cabbage — and the irresistible crunch of an eggroll wrapper. This delicious fusion is perfect for parties, family dinners, or as a satisfying snack.
Runza Eggrolls
Ingredients
1 pound hamburger (ground beef)
1 onion, chopped
½ head cabbage, shredded (or coleslaw mix)
1 egg
Eggroll wrappers
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Brown hamburger and onion together in a skillet; drain excess fat.
Add cabbage and cook until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Cool slightly.
Stir in the beaten egg to bind the filling.
Place 2-3 tablespoons of filling in each eggroll wrapper. Roll up, sealing the edge with a little water.
To cook: Fry in oil at 350°F for 2-4 minutes until golden, or bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, turning once.
Serve hot, with your favorite dipping sauce.
