Creamy Hamburger Rice Soup

Creamy hamburger rice soup is a warm and filling dish that combines ground beef, rice, and vegetables in a creamy broth. It has a rich, savory flavor that balances well with the creaminess of the broth.


Creamy Hamburger Rice Soup

Ingredients

  • 3 carrots

  • 1 onion

  • 3 ribs celery

  • ¼ pound butter

  • 1-pound ground beef

  • 2 Tbl. Steak & Chop Seasoning

  • ¼ cup flour

  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 quarts water

  • 2 Tablespoons beef base

  • 2 cups cooked rice

  • 2 cups cream or 3 cups milk

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Medium dice the onion, celery, and carrots and set aside in your mise

  2. Over medium heat, in a stock pot or Dutch oven, add the butter and the ground beef, and cook until the butter begins to melt

  3. Add the mirepoix of vegetables, salt and pepper, and the steak and chop seasoning to the ground beef and cook with lid on for about 10 minutes

  4. Once the meat has completely cooked, add the flour into the meat and fat, and stir well to make a roux

  5. Add the beef base to the water and make a broth, add the broth to the pan and stir well until the soup begins to thicken

  6. Add the Worcestershire sauce, more salt and pepper, and the rice

  7. Stir well and simmer for about 10 minutes
