Calico Beans
Ingredients
½ lb. ground beef
½ lb. bacon, diced
1 onion, chopped
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of butter beans
2 cans of pork and beans
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ cup ketchup
2 Tablespoons molasses
Method
Cook the hamburger, bacon, and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until they are cooked through. Drain off the grease when the food is fully cooked.
In a sieve, drain and rinse the kidney and butter beans. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix the sugars, mustard, ketchup, and molasses
Add the cooked and drained beef mixture and all the beans into a slow cooker
Add the sauce to the mixture and cook on low for 4 hours
