Tater Tot Hot dish
1 pound ground beef
¼ pound butter
1 onion, small dice
2 ribs celery, small dice
½ cup flour
2 cups water
1 Tablespoon chicken base
1 cup heavy cream
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup 5-way mixed vegetables
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 bag tater tots
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter, onion, celery, and ground beef, and cook until the meat is cooked, and the onion and celery are soft.
Add the flour, and make a roux, cook on low heat until the mixture is smooth and doesn’t stick to the pan.
Add the water and the chicken base, and using a whisk, incorporate and stir everything until mixture begins to thicken.
Add the heavy cream, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper- continuing to stir
Turn up the heat to medium, and continue to stir until the mixture is thick
Add the vegetables and mix
Place mixture into a small baking dish, top with cheddar cheese
Top the mixture with the tater tots, and bake for 1 hour at 350℉
