Buckwheat Pancakes


  • 1 cup buckwheat flour

  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 egg

  • 2 Tablespoon molasses

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 Tablespoon oil


  1. Heat a lightly greased griddle or pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Whisk the buckwheat flour, salt, and baking powder in a small bowl.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, molasses, milk and oil.

  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, and then pour ¼ cup portions onto the hot griddle or pan

  5. Cook until the top is bubbly, then flip and cook until the center is set, about 2-3 minutes per side

Serve immediately

Makes 8 pancakes depending on size.
