Cheeseburger soup is a creamy soup that tastes like a cheeseburger. It's made with ground beef, onions, garlic, vegetables, beef broth, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheddar cheese. It's a comforting and satisfying soup for cheeseburger lovers.
Cheeseburger Soup
Ingredients
2 pounds of ground beef
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
1 large onion
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup flour
4 teaspoons dry mustard
1 package of sliced American Cheese
1 Tablespoon chicken base
½ gallon of water
Method
Add the oil to a large pot over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef and begin to brown. Dice the onion and add it to the browning meat; continue to brown the meat until it is thoroughly cooked.
Turn the heat to medium and stir in flour to form a roux.
Cook the roux over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Add water and cook for an additional 5 minutes, continuing to mix with a whisk.
As the soup begins to thicken, add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and chicken base. Continue to stir and add the American cheese, a couple of slices at a time, until well dissolved and combined into the soup.
Simmer and continue to stir for 10 minutes before serving.
