Flaxseeds are often used as a nutritious ingredient in crackers. They add a subtle nutty flavor and a satisfying crunch, while also providing a source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein. Flaxseed crackers are a popular choice for health-conscious individuals looking for a wholesome, gluten-free snack
Flax Seed Crackers
Ingredients
1 cup flaxseed meal
2 Tablespoons flax seeds
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Mediterranean Blend seasonings
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup of water
Method
Preheat your oven to 400°F
Combine the flax seeds, water, and salt in a bowl. If you're adding any other optional seasonings, include them at this stage. Stir until well combined.
Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes. This will give the flax seeds time to absorb the water and swell.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the mixture onto the sheet and spread it evenly using a spatula. Aim for a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
To create individual crackers, score the dough into squares or rectangles with a knife.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden and the crackers are firm.
Once baked, let them cool completely on the sheet before breaking them apart along the scored lines.
