Hamburger Goulash

Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, diced
2 ¼ Tablespoon brown sugar
1 ¼ teaspoon paprika
1 ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoon vinegar
2 cups ketchup
Beef or chicken base
1 cup flour
Noodle of choice
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
In a large stock pot cook 10 ounces of pasta according to package directions
Brown the ground beef in a large Dutch oven or pot, with the aromatics, and salt and pepper-do not drain the fat
In a separate bowl, add the brown sugar, paprika, dry mustard, cayenne, Worcestershire, vinegar, and ketchup and mix well
When the beef is fully cooked, add the flour to the meat a stir well to make a roux
Add the sauce and two cups of water and mix well
Add the beef base and continue to stir, Season with salt and pepper if needed
Bring to a small boil, then turn to a simmer and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to keep from scalding the bottom
Add the cooked pasta to the mix or plate the pasta and cover with the sauce.
