Korean Braised BBQ Short Ribs (Galbi)

Ingredients

• ¾ cup beef broth

• 1/3 cup soy sauce

• 1 Asian Pear-grated

• 1 bunch green onions sliced and divided

• 2 tablespoons honey

• 2 Tablespoons gochujang sauce

• 2 Tablespoons sesame oil

• 2 Tablespoons grated fresh ginger

• 1 Tablespoon grated fresh garlic

• ¼ teaspoon salt

• 1 ½ pounds English cut beef ribs


Method

  1. Mix beef broth, soy sauce, pear, honey, gochujang, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and salt in a bowl. Set aside 3 Tablespoons for later.

  2. Pour the larger amount of sauce into a slow cooker and set ribs meat side down into the sauce and cover. Cook on high for 4 hours or low heat for 6 hours. Or any time combination you wish.

  3. When ribs are done cooking, preheat oven broiler to 450 degrees F.

  4. Transfer the ribs to a sheet pan-brush the ribs with the reserved sauce from earlier, and broil for 5-10 minutes until the meat is slightly crispy.

  5. Sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice.
