Shrimp with Snow Peas

Shrimp and snow peas stir fry is a vibrant, flavorful dish combining tender shrimp with crisp, fresh snow peas. The stir fry is typically cooked quickly over high heat, allowing the shrimp to remain juicy and the snow peas to retain their crunch. Often seasoned with garlic, ginger, and a savory sauce, this meal offers a delightful balance of textures and tastes, making it both healthy and satisfying.

Shrimp with Snow Peas

Ingredients

  • 1-pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • ½ cup chicken broth

  • 2 teaspoon rice wine

  • 1 ½ teaspoon soy sauce

  • 1 ½ teaspoon cornstarch

  • ¾ teaspoon sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon plus two teaspoons vegetable oil

  • 2 Tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger

  • 6 ounces washed and dried snow peas

Method

  1. Combine the broth, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl.

  2. Heat the wok over medium-high heat. Add oil to the wok and cook the shrimp in a single layer for 3-4 minutes, until they are pink. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir-fry for an additional 15 seconds. Add the pea pods and stir-fry for another minute.

  3. Stir the cornstarch mixture, add it to the wok, and bring it to a boil. Stir-fry the shrimp and pea pods for about 2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

  4. Serve immediately with rice or noodles.
